What to expect on Sunday mornings

WORSHIP

We gather for worship on Sundays at 10:00 am.  We hold a traditional service.  Dress comfortably.    We would like to get to know you and invite you to come on the journey with us, to come with questions, to come with doubts, to come and find the wonderful life that can be had in service to Jesus Christ.  All are welcome.

ARRIVING

Parking is available in our parking lot accessible from 9th Avenue or 3rd Street. Street parking is available on 9th Avenue.  You can enter through the front doors on 9th Avenue or through the parking lot entrance on the west side or north side of the building. We are handicap accessible from the 9th Avenue entrance and this is where the elevator is located.

WORSHIPPING WITH KIDS

Children are always welcome!

Children’s Activity Bags are available as you enter the sanctuary.  A Children’s Moment is offered each week during worship. After the message children accompany adult leaders to their Sunday School classrooms. During the summer (May – August), children remain in worship with their families.

Nursery

For those families interested, a nursery is provided on the middle level. Our nursery is available for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Sunday School

Children from preschool through 6th grade are invited to join us for Sunday School on Sunday mornings. Children can attend Sunday School after the Children’s Moment, during the worship service.  Sunday School is offered September to May.

COMMUNION/PRAYER/OFFERING

Communion is on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone present is invited to the table. While no one is required to receive communion, all are welcome. The United Methodist Church practices open communion. All who are seeking the love of Christ are invited. If you are unable to come forward to receive the elements, please inform an usher. Home visitation Communion is also available.

We pray in many ways at Peace UMC: through song, silence and spoken words.  Each week we take time to pray for our community and our world.

God calls us to be stewards of creation and reach out to our neighbors. One way to do this is through regular financial giving, and we encourage our members to tithe. If you would like to participate in financial giving, you may place your gifts in the offering plates.

FELLOWSHIP

Following worship please join us downstairs in the Fellowship Hall for coffee ‘an.  This a time to meet, visit and get to know others in our congregation and community.
